Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2015 “Soul of a Lion” pours a deep ruby/purple with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of cassis, plum, purple flowers, Fresno chili, tobacco, leather, vanilla and fine baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and silky. A fairly massive wine but there’s plenty of character to keep it unique and interesting. Drink now through 2035+

Revisiting the Daou flagship. ‘20 vintage. Very mellow tannins. Smooth and silky with concentrated fruit. Dense, and long finish. Delicious. B55 treat.

The wine is very dark, so inky that light does not pass through it. The nose is fresh, riddled with black and blue berries, clove, cinnamon and cedar. On the palate, the rich fruit is out front with a savory backbeat trailing behind. The tannins are firm, while the finish is long and extremely tasty.

Just delicious! Brambly big berries. Complex and soft yet full and voluptuous. Just like a woman. And that scent...

Two occasions to open this special wine - it’s Father’s Day, and in addition, it is my 1,000th wine in Delectable. 😎 After an hour of decanting this wine is smooth and silky, well balanced, and to my surprise very soft tannins. Well integrated. Ready to drink, and yet ready to sleep ten more years as well. Complex layers of fruit. Delicious. Daou can take on any Napa cabs and shine. Revisited 8/27/19 at Daou Vineyards - rating affirmed.

Office Holiday party. Juicy purple fruit, smoke and firm tannic structure. Young but doable. 😉

Absolutely one of the best Cabs you'll fine from Paso. Incredibly full bodied, dark rich fruit and very soft and supple tannins Stacks up to the best from Napa and Sonoma.
