Popped and poured; consumed over two days with very little evolution. I've had several bottles of this over the last six months and while there has been some slight bottle variation, I believe this bottle is rather representative of where this wine is at this stage of its life. Secondary characteristics are now dominant with leather, prunes, mushrooms, damp earth, and ferrous minerals presiding. That being said, this is still quite tannic with low-medium acid. My wife wasn't much a fan but I was able to enjoy this wine's swan song as it rides off into the sunset.

Really wonderful nose, an immediate overlapping of fruit and spices, but whatever lingers on the finish is a bit too bitter for my taste. Maybe more air will hope, but I don't have high hopes. Much lighter than I expected, too. Past its prime, perhaps?

Lovely bright cherries, rose, a hint of spice on the palate, and earthy on the nose. Light tannins and acidity round out this medium bodied wine making it very approachable.
