Founded in 1879, named after the winery's initials, but a mistake - the 'V' was written as a 'U' - led to the creation of the Cune label. A blend of 85% Tempranillo with 15% Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo, dark Ruby with aromas of ripe red and black fruits with a earthy woody nose. On the palate raspberry and blackberry flavors with vanilla spice, licorice and notes of cacao. Well balanced with lively acidity, soft tannins will only get better, long ending with sweet fruit and earthy spice character. Nice! Tasting Sample!

Oct 16th, 2020Great value Reserva. Lots of oak ( vanilla) influence. Nice balance, body and acidity. Very enjoyable fruit notes of cherry plum blackberry red fruit. Ther is an earthy side with black fruit cassis rounding out the flavor profile. Suggested

Jun 11th, 2021A very fruit forward and earthy wine, 2hr. Decant. On the nose I am getting BlackBerry, leather, cedar, dark chocolate, stewed prunes and oak.
The palate is much different! Tar, bitter dark chocolate, dark berries..not as giving of character. Vigorous swirling in glass to get heat on back of throat to dissipate. Will allow more time to relax and possibly render my judgment!
