Cusumano
Alta Mora Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese
Popped and poured; enjoyed over a 90 minute period. No formal notes. Slightly deeper in color than the Benanti enjoyed before and there’s a bit more depth in general when comparing the two. Ripe strawberries and cherries. Savory. Good structure. Drinking well now but this has the stuffing to mature gracefully over the next decade.

Dec 9th, 2023El vino estaba agradable, parecía un pinot noir normal, pero lo tomé con una chica que era muy especial! Así que tiene un buen recuerdo ese vino!

Oct 24th, 2022Warm candied red fruit, Black cherries, butterscotch and berry caramel, even some cocoa. Pungent tart salty smokey aroma. Very nice palate... acid and tannins on point. Nice tannins that could help this age. Nice dusty chalky palate and finish.

Dec 30th, 2019A new winery from the Cusumano family. Name Alta Mora translates to “Tall, Black” representing heights of the vineyards on the mountain & the dark, black volcanic soil. Ruby with red fruit aromas and spicy pepper notes. On the palate flavors of tart strawberry & cherry with bit of earthy underbrush on vivid acidity. Medium tannins and finish ending with fruit and spice. Drink now.

Feb 7th, 2017If I'm dreaming don't wake me. Drinking wine in Sicily is pure enjoyment! Is it the star lit sky, the beautiful people, the quaint court yard, the rhythm of the evening or the wine? I'm held hostage, and I don't want to escape! The seamlessness in which the food interplays with the wine is beyond beautiful. Cherry, over ripe strawberry and mounds of good earth. But what gets me is the texture and acidity. Mount Etna has shown its uniqueness! As Burgundy prices skyrocket, I increasingly turn to Nerello Mascalase !
