Stunning nose of vivid tobacco, gorgeous cassis, saddle leather, earth and mineral. Really intense nose. Wow the tobacco and leather are on overdrive. Supple and ripe palate with firm tannins and terrific freshness and some nice opulence but allied with energy. Terrific concentration and super intense mouth coating minerality. This will surely evolve with air and needed a break from Pinot.

Stunning nose or cigar, ash, beautiful herbals, tree bark, grassy field, black currant, smells like 1940’s St. Estephe. Very foresty. Love it. Palate is fresh and energetic and so young. Really young. Needs 10+ years. At least. Big tannins. Good red and black cassis fruit but so young and unformed. It’s all there.

Nov 15th, 2020Needed older wine tonight. Nose of mushrooms, wet earth, tobacco, gamey meats, vegetables, so so complex. So shroomy. Palate is superb. Fresh, complex and very nimble. Red cherry and red currant fruit. Velvety tannins. So pure. Long. Lingers. So great. World class wine.

Sweet, juicy, complex and concentrated. Exceptionally complex and deep with quite some time to go but so promising. Needs 10 years. Great wine.

Another nighttime outdoor shot. Another aromatic wonder. Earthy, savory notes with dark cherries & flowers. Powerful Cab Franc with a sturdy tannic backbone. Will be best in a few years, but stood as a great counterpoint to the other wines last night.
