La Mannella Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese
Yum yummers macyummerstein. Elegant and floral, expansive, and holy heck it’ll age.

Aug 26th, 2023This is not the Riserva (it’s the regular Brunello), but it’s really nice. Complex nose feautures dark cherry, balsamic notes, warm gravel. Rich, focused, and concentrated, loads of sandstony earthy notes, rich dark fruit. Lots of soft tannin. Long finish. Just entering its drinking window.

Sep 19th, 2022Celebrating 47 a month later (post colonoscopy and 10 year anniversary celebrations). Staple favourite with my favourite person. We wanted a Gianni Brunelli and said so to the Somm; he then suggested this approachable delight. Great, great bottle. Happy and reasonable (for Otto e Mezzo!). ❤️

Apr 13th, 2024Really pretty nice and a decent value. Relatively ready to go (with food and a decant). Great pairing with a steak in Vegas.

Feb 3rd, 2024Это Россо реально конкурирует с Брунелло. Он как занфандель, но лучше и благородней.

Jun 24th, 2023See previous note: A bit more restrained than previous bottle, nose more mute…
However…a sip after a taste of Asado Negro( Bottom round in a sweet-sour onion sauce) ba boom! Bitter oranges, mint, oak, sous-bois. It has that tomato rubbed leather couch thing.A needle in a haystack find @ WTSO. Nice savory, almost salty quality. It rides that red/brown edge. I’m sure a few more years would be nice.

N: a bit alcoholic after a 1/2 hr decant. But, Smoke and tar. Definitely some earth. Lots of tarry, Sangiovese depth. Mint.
P: Lots of tannins up front, not obtrusive, black cherry compote, cherry liqueur, some wood but probably old wood, nice acid balance.dusty and dirty.
A @wtso bargain.
