Sorrel, leather, cranberry, blood red, tannin over acid, both strong, cranberry, sorrel — 3 years ago
A nice example of my favorite form of Sangiovese. — 10 years ago
Very good - not great. Nose on opening was lovely with muted earthy dark fruits. A bit tannic on opening so not describing first glass. Next day the tannins and acidity were balanced and the flavors were again earth forward with dark berries, fig, balsamic with clove, tobacco/leather. Moderately long finish. All the components of a good Brunello are there - except for the “wow” factor of a pop of the flavors and layers of the experience. — 3 months ago
The 2013 Rosso di Montalcino captures the essence of this site rich in clay and limestone, where the wines are ample and broad in style. Dark cherry, plum, smoke, lavender and spice notes blossom in a resonant Rosso loaded with personality. This is a fabulous showing from Andrea Cortonesi. (AG) — 8 years ago
