The 2013 Rosso di Montalcino captures the essence of this site rich in clay and limestone, where the wines are ample and broad in style. Dark cherry, plum, smoke, lavender and spice notes blossom in a resonant Rosso loaded with personality. This is a fabulous showing from Andrea Cortonesi. (AG) — 6 years ago
Wonderful in '09... Right up there with '04 & '07 for Andrea Cortonesi — 9 years ago

A nice example of my favorite form of Sangiovese. — 8 years ago

After 4-5 hour decant this has been a nice rollercoaster. Started highly tannic and red fruit aroma. Became cranberry flavorz with a lull in tastiness. Finally refreshing on this warm day with a tinge of oak nuttiness. It's much better now and incredible rosso vs others I've had. $24 BevMo — 2 years ago

See previous note: A bit more restrained than previous bottle, nose more mute…
However…a sip after a taste of Asado Negro( Bottom round in a sweet-sour onion sauce) ba boom! Bitter oranges, mint, oak, sous-bois. It has that tomato rubbed leather couch thing.A needle in a haystack find @ WTSO. Nice savory, almost salty quality. It rides that red/brown edge. I’m sure a few more years would be nice.
