Feb 24th, 2024Here’s to Cathy Corison of Corison Winery!!!
Wow, this Corison Cabernet Sauvignon is deliciously balanced; not overripe or overwrought…
It has a deep ruby hue with medium (+) intensity of aromas and flavors that span the spectrum of black cherry, black cassis, blackberry, blueberry, mulberry, violet, green bell pepper, graphite, pencil shavings, cedar box, clove, vanilla, cardamom, star anise, tobacco, leather, and wet earth.
On the palate it’s dry, with medium (+) acidity, a medium (+) body, medium (nearing high) alcohol at 13.8% ABV, high tannins that are fine-grained and well-integrated, and a long elegant finish.
This wine is top notch delicious revealing layers as it opens up.
It is the 2019 Corison St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon and is in a beautiful place. We sipped it as the golden hour approached and paired it with roasted chicken over a bed of arugula and cherry tomatoes, with lemon torchietti pasta, tossed in a Champagne-Dijon vinaigrette with sautéed haricots verts.
Cheers to beautiful California Cabernet Sauvignons!

Double decant and corked at 6:30 am then started drinking at 4:30 pm. Whoa. I’m shocked at how accessible this was - especially in comparison to the Bevan. LOVE this wine and can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Apr 6th, 2024So impressed with this wine. Incredible. One of the best Napa Cabs in recent memory. So delicately balanced that I still can’t believe the decimation of the terroir in my palate. Everything is there: the dark fruit, oak, slight licorice and vanilla, high tannins and acidity, med alcohol, full bodied, etc. but the harmony in the palate is exquisite! It’s like an epiphany in your palate.
