Overall well made but it lacks the intensity and ambition compared to vintages like 2016. I guess they had to pick rather early to reduce the risk of wild fire related smoke taint. Leaning towards full bodied, it’s an elegant expression of Napa Valley Cab from Rutherford Bench vineyards. Drink now until 2035.

Sep 14th, 2022Wonderful bouquet of violet and cassis. Currants, dark cherries, blackberries, plums, and a bit of tobacco. Juicy, tangy, and bright with firm tannins.

May 8th, 2022Elegant Cabernet Sauvignon and a step up from most of the Cabernet Sauvignons I have had (but also more expensive). I found a half bottle at an affordable price. This wine would be better in five years. For now, it starts with an elegance that reminds me of the top Bordeaux’s I have had, but the finish is still a little too strong although long.

Dec 13th, 2021Blueberry, plum, spice, hint of menthol. From the ripe, warm 2017 vintage, a bit more alcohol for Corison then is the norm, yet delicious still. At Beth’s house while John makes his signature pork noodles and Liam pontificates about all things wine.
