Last week was a combo of 4th Friday and Open That Bottle Night on back to back nights. Needless to say, the lineup between both days was full of heavy hitters, so I’m only posting standout bottles.

One of my bottles. One of my favorite wineries and easily one of the top 5 winery visits I’ve ever done. To me, this is “classic” Continuum in that is has just a impeccable balance of both fruit and herbal/savory notes both aromatically and on the palate. I let this slow ox for a couple hours, checking in ever so often, and found this hit stride after about two hours of air. Lovely bouquet of potpourri, lavender, graphite, sage, currant, ripe blackberries, black cherries and mocha. On the palate, its profile is soft yet all encompassing. Mulberries, cassis, tobacco leaves, herbs de Provence, licorice, dark cocoa, baking spices and a touch savory toward the finish. Enjoyable now and not getting better. My thanks to
@Bill Bender for this.

Pretty aromatics. Blueberry Lively
Ripe but still some red and blue. Dustyfeel. Hints of coffee grounds. Astringent Pritchard Hill tannins.

Day 2 of Napa in the books!

We were told that we were the first non-employees to taste the ‘16 Continuum. Only decanted an hour or so prior to arrival. Very young. Highlights Pritchard Hill/Sage Canyon wonderfully. The depth here is what is special...heavy/baked black cherry, surrounded by mineral & herbal notes. Ripe and sweet red, blue and black fruits present. Massive in structure to go on for years. Loved this.

Bottled just a few months ago, the 2015 Continuum is shaping up to be a real gem. The flavors are dark, bold and incisive. In 2015, poor weather during flowering took with it 50% of the production in Continuum's prime Cabernet Sauvignon blocks. As a result, the 2015 has a high percentage (31%) of Cabernet Franc. Today, the Franc is keeping the wine a bit clenched, but that should be less of an issue as time passes. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2018)

Deep and dark purplish ruby. Rich nose with lots of dark cocoa, cassis, black fruits, light graphite and dark gravel. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. A bit of anise on the palate with dark fruits, baking spices, tobacco and some nice minerality. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2035.

This vintage is made up of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 15% Petit Verdot, and 5% Merlot.
