One of the few wines I recognize on the menu and that is on me. Little to be said about Clos rougeard, outstanding, little or no green grass, has become way too expensive but is always a joy.

Ageless and weightless. Earthy, ethereal, and aromatic, with dried sour cherry, stewed rhubarb and cranberry, black peppercorn, tobacco, worn-in leather, kalamata olive, violet petal, herbes de Provence, and sweet baking spice. Just a hint of perfectly integrated barnyard. Unbelievable with lamb tagine. 🤩🦄

Cab franc from an iconic producer that has evolved enough that the pyrazines have completely been integrated. Had it with prime rib and it’s deep rich red fruit flavors just kept unfolding.

Medium garnet, smells of cedar, earth and cherries. In the mouth, earthy notes of cherry, hazelnuts, cocoa and tobacco. Great acidity, long finish.
