Opened several hours prior to service, the 2007 pours a deep, ruby/purple color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and desiccated bramble berries, strawberry, dried red flowers, garrigue, anise, leather, dried herbs and stony earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is anything but tired and far from overblown. I’ve been surprised by a number of 2007 CdP’s lately. They have showed better balance than I expected and this one is wonderfully balanced. Drink now through 2037.

Aromas wafted from the bottle as soon as it was opened. Sweet exotic red fruits- pomegranate, herbs and spices- cinnamon, balsam- reminiscent of a Mediterranean bazaar. And for all the seductive sweetness, the purity of the fruit and the acid at the core makes this particularly special.

Best consumed in the first several hours of opening when perfume is most intense.

Ripe and plummy with a bit of cherry at the edges. Real deep Grenache. A bit too hot and overblown.

Gorgeously open knit dark red fruit, hints of tobacco, gnarly fruit, this is lush and excellent.

A typically elegant wine showing depth of fruit and solid viscosity. Nice nose, mouth and finish. A very good food wine. Buy

Wild brambly nose of nutmeg, barrel toast, and cloves. Surprisingly sweet on the palette, complemented with firm notes of anise, smoke and soft brown sugar. Excellent stuff.

After a funky bretty half of 2007 in Cali we doubled up and popped a mag that never left the cellar in France. Really good with lots of life, still pretty ripe with hefty alcohol but not out of balance. Will be interesting to watch it evolve...

Hands down the best wine I have enjoyed in 2016. Layers of complexity and unparalleled balance. Has another 20 year window to enjoy.
