Côte de Brouilly Gamay

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Consistent throughout. The 2014 pours a slightly hazy purple/garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart strawberry, blackberry, purple flowers, dried green herbs, horse blanket and rocky minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium. A Côte de Brouilly of great character. Drink now through 2034.

Always fantastic. Herbal, cool, clean, ultra pure blackberries with superb just-ripeness. So much finesse.

I had with Passover meal. I have always found to be closed & more ‘ dumb’ in its infancy- almost like Olga Raffault chinon. Yet all the juicy & rewarding red fruit is there. Kermit importer.

Bigger than I expected big strawberry jam ,earthy , spice , tannins - really nice way bigger than I thought

One of the classics. Never a disappointment.

2016 vintage. Great typicity and very aromatic. Lilac, rose petals, blackberry, strawberry, tart cherry, black rocks, incense, graphite. So delicious. Great with a little chill on it.

Flower balance. Big for a Beaujolais but at the same time elegant.

I like the heady, graphite, blueberry jam notes, super light on its feet, good acid and some tannin.

I love this wine- fresh, nice stem character, spice, earth, hint of game, bright blue and red fruits, tons of flavor, clean, more body than you would expect for a Gamay and full of flavor. Wines are always wonderful from Chateau Thivin- one of my favorites.

Santa deserves some of the finest Cru Beaujolais known to humanity.
