Nose has ash covered blackcurrants, crushed black cherries, oak firewood stack, blackberry cordial and dried sage.

Palate has clay covered blackberry, dried black cherry, dried blackcurrants, anise, fine tannins with slight saline notes to the medium finish.

A very nice effort, double decanted then 24H rest, based on others notes this wine needed a wide berth and I'm very pleased with the outcome.

Sipping Fine Wine

Deep Ruby with aromas of berry fruits and floral notes. On the palate flavors of ripe cherry and raspberry with dried flower herb spice. Fine dusty tannins on medium finish ending fruit, oak and mineral character.

2018 vintage. The best I have tasted from this estate. More balance and finesse than the 2016. The 2014 is ready to drink in a lighter style.

Nice side by side here. The ‘14 has a dash of Malbec, otherwise the makeup is the same. ‘14 is clearly less ripe and fruit forward. The wine has more acidic nerve and a slightly more restrained structure. Will be interesting to see how each involves. Both offered immense pop and pour pleasure.

At 14.5% a bit bigger than I tend to drink. By day 2/3 I was happier with the balance. Good concentration. Definitely the oak monster lurks

Drinking very well, nicely balanced with dark fruit, spice and soil on a robust frame. Oak char on the finish. Tasty stuff.

2010 vintage. A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, aged 12 months in barriques. Dark colour. Oaky nose with jammy fruit in the background. Powerful and monolithic, lacks finesse. Overextracted, and therefore not my cup of tea. Still decent value at less than 20 euro if you like this style.

Aging very nicely with notes of leather, tar and dried sage? Not sure if it should taste this advanced yet, but it’s still nice to drink. The window may be closing.
