Meh. Run-of-the-mill Bordeaux aromas of dried old leaves, scorched earth, and a bit of fruit. A little severe in the mouth, with little fruit and a dried, scorchy finish.

What an interesting wine. First pour started off with some volatility on the nose, and a soupy, murky palate that hinted at porcini and decayed leaves as well as red fruit. I had low expectations for the bottle over the course of the evening, as it seemed ready to fall apart. Then the opposite happened - it came together, tightened up, to where the last glass was a elegant, refined, cohesive glass of red fruits with an herbal twinge. The VA remained, but this was very enjoyable nonetheless. Edit: reading notes on the same vintage below I wonder about the cork quality in this particular bottle

Cassis, tobacco, green bell pepper. Super primary. Stiff tannin. Nice acid. Sénéjac is a dependable Bordeaux when you want a Bordeaux.

OK-ish. Feels forced with over extracted black fruits and charred oak. Spend 50% more and get a much better wine.
