2012 vintage. Dark red with little evolution. Black fruits in a tight, but velvety tannic structure. Impressive depth for the vintage. Drinking well,but I believe it will still improve with further bottle age. Abv. 13,5%.

The 1983 Rauzan-Ségla has a dark core with some bricking on the rim. The bouquet is a little rustic, with soy, blackcurrant pastilles and melted tar, gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly drying tannins, red fruit mixed with soy, maybe just becoming a little acetic in its dotage, but there is a charm in a bucolic style. Tasted at the château. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2023)

Medium concentration of ruby color - kinda dull. Clove, ashtray, cigar box, minerality, mushroom, forest floor, tart red raspberry and pomegranate. Spearmint. Medium finish, medium acidity, med+ tannins definitely not integrated yet very grippy.

Yes. Wafting black currant and violet, tobacco, subtle brambley leafiness. Elegant, silky and transparent with black cherry, red currant, and blueberry fruit. A cooling wine with a pretty aroma and subtle sweetness. Well judged and very well proportioned.

Blend of 62% Cab Sauv, 36% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby with aromas of red/black fruits, sweet spice and floral notes. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blueberry with notes of cinnamon, cacao and leafy tobacco. Fine tannins, long finish, well balanced with acidity ending with fruit and sweet herb mineral character. Very nice!!

WNH NY, 2021.
This was pure elegance in a gloss. A model of poise and restraint. Superb oak treatment, leads into coffee and regal tannins on the mid-palate. Lots of mature cherries interplay with medium acidity. Probably has another 20 years ahead of it.

On this Saturday night I have opened the 2015 Château Rauzan-Ségla. After having the 2016 I had to open this 2015 to compare the two. This one is a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Surprisingly similar in blend to the 16' but this one is much bigger yet complex and well integrated.

On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, licorice, tobacco, menthol, olives and wet gravel.

On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, integrated toasted oak, chocolate, tea leaf and forest floor.

This is another beautiful wine that is full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel, medium+ acidity and medium + grippy mouth coating tannins that has a long black fruit oak finish. Loved having these two wines relatively close together where the 16' had a unique finesse about it and this 15' is bigger yet well classy. Tonight I have opened the 2016 Château Rauzan-Ségla. A beautiful left bank Bordeaux from Margaux made up of a blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot.

On the nose there is black cherry, raspberry, plum, black currant, chocolate, herbs, violets, graphite and wet rich earth.

On the palate I am getting cherry, raspberry, red plum, green bell pepper, cassis, herbs, graphite and earth.

This beautifully complex full bodied wine has a smooth satin mouthfeel with medium + acidity and medium + fine grained tannins that seamlessly moves to a long good fruit/graphite finish. This is one wine you can get very excited about and enjoy having on any occasion and for many years to come. Have a great rest of your weekend and be safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

The Rauzan-Segla delivers everything you come to expect in an aged Marqaux. Over delivering was is just an ok 2006 Bordeaux vintage.

Paired excellently with our Porterhouse steaks cooked on the Green Egg.

From the first sip you got the beauty and creamy velvety tannins that I love so much from the region of a good Margaux producer.

The nose showed beautiful dark & mid red fruits with amazing red florals bounding from the decanter at first pour & better later in the glass.

The body is elegant, round & creamy. The fruits ripe, fresh; blackberries, dark cherries, strawberries, black raspberries and strawberries bring up the rear. Excellent florals, mixed red & purple fruit cola, soft, fresh tobacco notes, suede leather, limestone, moist clay, moist, dark earth and an array of; blue, purple & red florals. The acidity round & perfect. The long finish is like a velvety glove, well balanced, fresh, ripe, elegant, creamy and similar wire to wire.

It is out performing its original reviews at this point and has another 8-10 years of good drinking ahead of it.
