Apparently the winemaker, Monsieur Papin, is called "the poet of Chenin Blanc" by the revered Andrew Jefford and if he said so my only aim is to look for more Papins to corroborate through a field research. Oct 8th, 2016 A mildly amber colour that makes me think of shrivelled grapes covered in mold. Too ethereal (light) to be a sweet wine, therefore I'd have it as an aperitif too. Apricots and honey and orange marmalade and walnuts and marzipan, tangy aftertaste. Moderately dark color, but still fresh, with overt luscious sweetness, though with plenty of acidity to keep it from being cloying. Not monumentally complex, but it's hard to stop drinking it.
