On this Saturday night I have opened the 2014 Réserve De La Comtesse. 59% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot the second wine from Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de la Lalande.
On the nose there is sumptuous dark fruit, blackberry, black cherry, black currant, stewed plums, chocolate, a bit of meatiness and tar.
On the palate the dark fruit continues with blackberry, black cherry, black currant, licorice, cedar, smoky oak, mocha and an earthiness.
This wine has a velvety mouth feel an is medium to full bodied with medium + acidity and medium + fine rounded tannin that leads to a delicious lingering finish. Stay safe and continued enjoyable weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Power and grace, this was a great bottle, opened too soon for sure but was still very enjoyable.

I've always thought this to be one of the better second wines one can buy in Bordeaux. From an unheralded vintage, this is a a tasty and expressive wine that is perfectly drinkable right now. Quite a focused wine with good freshness and finesse.

Ruby red in color. smell of floral and berries to the nose. Taste a little fruity with hint of pepper and spices. Medium tannin and dry. Slightly high in acidity. long pleasant finish

On a small format bottle. Very elegant wine with great acidity. Probably much better on a full size bottle. Really good stuff !!
