Vintage 2012 / I am deeply impressed , very rich and expressive in smell with morello cherries. Velvety taste. Grandiose!

Lovely Ventoux - showing a bit heavy on the oak at the moment it is still a wonderfully balanced Rhône with mineral and herbal notes along with very appealing red and black fruit showing both the Syrah and Grenache.

aromas of blackberry & raspberry compote, potpourri, Chinese 5 spice & black pepper, hints of cigar box & cured meats ~ a similar succession in flavors on the palate starting w juicy fruit but finishing w dusty spices & crushed dark stones

Plenty of S. Rhône richness and character but possesses a certain elegance and balance. Smokey blackberries and dark plums meet chocolate, succulent herbs, and floral garrigue tones. A little kiss of dank earthiness. Smooth and velvety on the palate with supple tannins

Rich, concentrated with opulent blackberry, blackcurrant and plum but also with a very attractive lavender with an oak cloak. Very attractive acidity backing up big fruit, oak at bit raw but should settle, and a lovely herbal finish that has, dare I say it. Elegance!

This is the Artemia Ventoux not the Quintessence….stellar southern Rhône, I can’t remember anything like this that’s not a CDP - deep dark inky color, sinus-clearing nose, palate is chewy, tannic but not overwhelming, I would have confused for a good cote rotie or rioja. Love it, can’t believe it’s a Ventoux. Actually started to get a bit earthy after being open awhile, I would *not* decant and just pop and drink! PJW says it’s all the vintage. Dunno.
