2019 vintage. Good classic Bordeaux, but definitely not in the same league as the best wines in the Moulis appellation (Branas Grand Poujeaux, Poujeaux, Anthonic, Dutruch Grand Poujeaux, Chasse Spleen). A nice highly forgettable drink. Abv. 13%.

Acquired in the Maucaillou tasting room in Bordeaux in 2008, then transported back to the states in a suitcase full of laundry, deposited in my cellar where it has remained until today.

Transparent and fresh. Almost pure ruby, showing only a smidge of bricking at the edges and not much age at all. Very pretty. Earthy nose of no. 2 pencil and old spices that gradually opens to red fruits. Maybe a cliche but this is on the Burgundian side of Bordeaux. So succulent; vibrating with red fruit and lively acids.

Still in St Maarten. Going on week 5 now. Enjoying this beauty. Deep garnet red. Layered nose with leather, tobacco, blackberry, and purple flowers. Medium tannins (5.5/10) and medium minus bodied. Complex palate with black currants, plums, earthiness and spices. Medium plus finish. Drink now.

Delicious red berry fruit, beginning of tertiary aromas, slap bang in its drinking window, needs drinking up - excellent value too

A delightful surprise perfect medium bodied mature claret in perfect condition. Very smooth and secondary but with the perfect amount of fruit remaining - the great 89 vintage!!!

This one shows the great potential of the 2009 vintage also in less famous chateaus from Medoc like this Moulis. It is not a big wine, yet it is well crafted and rich. Deep red, nose full of ripe red and black fruits, cherries, current, raspberry, a touch of coffee and leather, medium to full body with lovely smooth tannins and pleasant acidity. Fits fantastically with blue cheese and old Comte. My score 88, drink to 2020
