Deep garnet red. Lovely nose with cedar, cigar box, tobacco leaves, and red cherries. Full bodied with medium tannins (7,5/10). Graphite on the palate followed by red cherries, dust, earth, dark spices and minerality. Nice balance throughout. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2040.

The nose was all here. Big, dark, lots of cedar, sandalwood, red currant, tobacco, elegant and supple. Decanted. Beautiful wine.

Not exactly a wine you expect to show up in a blind tasting but I'm happy it did! Rich, complex with copious oak. Classy! Called it '03 St Emilon, I'm ok with that

Impressive? For sure on first encounter. Deep scent, quite interesting on the palate (although a bit heavy for my taste). Lots of things going on. But after that? The finish wasn't lingering (at all). And the need to take a sip again diminished by the minute. In the end we didn't empty the bottle and moved on to the next.

Pretty seamless wine. Elegant but in no way meek. Represents both the style of the Chateau and the vintage well. Red and black currants, violet florals and great length. Delightful to taste at the Chateau, while discussing winemaking with Mr. Pontallier! #margauxmoments
