Haven’t tasted in three years. The mineral component has become more defined and pervasive: powderized rocks and black iron. Bitter almond, prunes and blackstrap. And still no stinking Merlot. #cahors #malbec

Old school black wine. Blood, iron and boysenberry. No stinking Merlot, either.

Deep aromas of blackberries, cocoa, leather and graphite. Muddy and awesome especially for under 20 bones.

Dark purple -- near black -- in the glass. Graphite and dark chocolate on the nose. Firm tannins on entry. Dark chocolate, blackberry, and graphite rule the palate. Plenty of life left in this, but very satisfying right now (after a good decanting).

Held up fine with aging but offers no real pleasure.

after a good decantation (2-3 hours) this wine gives aromas of chocolate, cook, mushroom, and other materials hot or amber, tannic without being bitter, it carries a good coherence, and the 100% malbec reveals its intimate character. a "real" wine simple and well made, both accessible and with a certain identity with a duration in the mouth that gives rich developments. good value for money. to serve at 15-17 degrees.
