2017 vintage. 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. Evolved colour. Easy-drinking, not very complex.

Monthly WTF guys blind tasting group. This month was our annual, and famed, Left Bank vs Right Bank theme. All wines served blind as usual. Started off with a Rosé and a champagne. Great night.
The most soft and plush wine of the night. I’d enjoy these soon as there isn’t a lot of acidity, or tannin, at this 5yr mark. Very ripe. Jammy/fruit forward...fresh squeezed blueberries and blackberries on the nose. Sweetened plum, bacon fat, boysenberry jam notes on the palate. I called this ‘14, Left Bank, St Julien. Thanks @Andrew Heffley .

Ch. Leoville-Poyferre Dinner; 16 May 2017 at Chez Nous Bistro, Lee, MA
Very nice St. Estèphe, but the Ch. Moulin Riche '14, at half of this price, is a much better bottle on all fronts.

Lovely for a second label. Still very young and charged with primary fruit.

In one word-wow. The integration of fruit, acid, tannins and oak are outstanding. One to hold for at least 5 years. This is stunning.
