The second wine of Léoville Barton, with its fabulously art deco style label, is a fruit-forward enjoyable St-Julien with a pleasant toasty character. Great pairing for a chilly May BBQ!

2004, Lovely second label Saint Julian from the underrated 2004 vintage, this vintage is starting to show beautifully today and this one is no exception. Deep garnet color, lavish nose full of black fruits, leather, wet soil, minerals, tobacco, cherries and a hint of mint, full body, with well integrated tannins and great balancing acidity. Medium pleasant finish. My score 88, drink to 2017

Nice, fruity and still vivid, this well made, pretty Bdx has nice drive, centered around cassis and ripe black currants, framed by mature tannins and juicy acidity. Very much alive and good for another 5-7 years.
