Duc des Nauves Côtes de Bordeaux Red Bordeaux Blend

Ok so not an incredible wine but for a 10-year-old inexpensive Bordeaux, it’s in fine shape.

Nice cross section of cranberry and bramble fruit alongside soil and herbs. A very tart and elegant frame with a bit of dimension to it. What a value.

Needed a day to open but balanced with dark Blackberry and other fruit with good acid. Hold.

Digestibilité.

The inverse of the famous Maceo Parker quote...except this is 98% jazz and 2% funky stuff. All the Bordeaux words: graphite, pencil shavings, cassis, cigar box, porcini, truffle, wet dirt. A tiny pop of VA and brett for the crunksters. As singular and distinctive as any $100+ classified growth, so the value proposition here is undisputed. Really a tiny lookback at what great Bordeaux wines were before 1982: 12%-ish alcohol, perfectly imperfect and a beverage for meals rather than for collectors.

Really interesting nose of earth, barnyard hints and ripe dark berries. Palate is a distinct but enjoyable mix of salt, strawberry, black cherry, licorice, spice, pencil lead and leather. Also strong note the cassis with BlackBerries and a mild coffee finish.

Smells like cider, tastes like I'm going to get drunk

This mouth watering young wine seems to be confirming that 2014 is my kind of vintage in Bordeaux.

Red fruits, plum, grapefruit, cherry ok the nose. Salted melon and hint of strawberry on the tongue.
