Château Le Boscq
Cru Bourgeois Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend
Vintage 2014 | I think I underestimate the drinking window, because every bottle gets better 🙃 now coming in its prime?

Jan 11th, 2024Chateau Le Boscq has turned out brilliantly in 2019, with cool cassis, mint, exemplary use of oak and perfectly extracted fruit from this fine vintage. It finishes long and will age well. I think I paid around £100 en primeur for a six bottle case of this - money very well spent!

Aug 13th, 2023Vintage 2014 | very very nice smell with leather, a barnyard, cedar, eucalyptus, classic. In taste lovely roundness and a point. Matured wine of a useful vintage, missing the real depth and concentration of great vintages but very enjoyable. Paired with parsnip fries and a beef. Happy.

May 13th, 2023Vintage 2014. Civilized weekday wine. Cedar, a bit stubborn smell. Earthy taste. Shy red fruit. This reconciles me with life, the positive effect of a good glass of wine. #saintestephe #bordeaux Partnered with a mushrooms truffle rissotto.

Nov 7th, 2018Chateau has a long history in the Saint Estephe appellation, dating back the 18th century. Chateau built for Thomas Barton, AKA Chateau Leoville Barton, in 1955 it was purchased by the Dourthe group. Dark crimson with berry, spice and earthy aromas. On the palate rich flavors of layered berry fruits moving towards jammy, complex fine dry soft tannins needing more time, opened up after 45 minutes. Lingering finish, nice acidity and balance, nice, recommend decanting.

Dec 10th, 2015For those that love those austere St. Estephe. Big structure, not afraid to give you some serious tannin, but starting to get integrated. This has an exotic spice character with herbaceous notes. Great with lamb!
