Château Lajarre
Bordeaux Supérieur
Right Bank in style. (80% Merlot/20% Cabernet Franc). Quite young, plush and firm. Dark ruby/purple color. Aromas and flavors of black fruits, spices, vanilla and black coffee. A hint of bitterness on the finish. Sharp touch of acidity. Good aging potential. Solid QPR. Thanks for the open bottle, Kase!

Jul 6th, 2024Lighter, more transparent color than expected. Plenty of wood shaving, pencil lead/graphite and rose petals to go with the red and black berry aromas. Flavor is nice. Bit of cranberry sauce and tart pie cherry filling. Hint of roasted vegetables. Maybe red bell peppers? Has black cherry and plum skins too. Finishes with slight licorice and some tart tongue smacking acid. Strangely full bodied and flavorful for its light opaqueness. All in all a nice Merlot Franc double play.
