Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Very fresh nose right out of the bottle with red fruits, wood and chocolate notes.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, currants, light wood, spices, coffee, earth, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppercorn, licorice and black tea.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This 10 year old Cabernet Sauvignon based blend is drinking beautifully now. Elegant and rich. Fruit forward and complex.

This Second Wine from this 3rd growth winery is delicious. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Soft, spicy and entertaining.

Feels young, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly, but good right out of the bottle too.

A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. Aged for 13 months in (20% new) French Oak barrels.

13% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$40.

2020 vintage. A blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, and 9% Petit Verdot. An elegant, fresh, medium-bodied, well-balanced wine with good length. It's not very complex, but a reliable, well-made crowdpleaser. No match for the (more expensive)Moulin Riche 2020 tasted alongside.

Deep Ruby red with aromas of red fruits with cedar spice aromas. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with some cacao and licorice notes, adding mineral tones. Fine tannins, medium finish, good balance with fruit, ending with smoky character, drink now, no real benefit from long-term aging.

1985 vintage. Seems to be the first vintage for the second wine of Lagrange, an estate that improved dramatically ever since it was bought by Suntory. I didn't expect the second wine holding up this well, but it is a delicious wine with an intriguingly smokey nose. In the mouth it is smooth and balanced with still good fruit and energy. A pleasant surprise.

Aromas of Huckle berry jam- Apple skin, parsley stem, very light and acidic for a Bordeaux

I’ve always quite liked Lagrange. Fiefs is their second wine. The 2008 is dark and juicy. Plush texture. Good drinking now.

I tried this second wine from Lagrange for the second time recently. Juicy and giving, plum and leather . Sage on the finish. Very nice indeed but I’d rather wait a while before my next bottle.

What a delicious wine! Ok, it’s not the most complex Bordeaux in the world but it is pure joy. Fairly intense with dark cherry and tobacco, it has tons of depth and was the perfect mid week pick me up.
