Château dates back to 1560, records suggest it might go back to 12th century making it one of oldest estates in the heart of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC region near Avignon. Ruby with aromas of red fruit. Blend of 33% Grenache, 33% Syrah, 33% Mouvèdre & splash of mostly Cinsault. Aromas of berry fruits, oak & sweet spice. On the palate flavors of raspberry, cherry & blackberry with hints of oak, leather, vanilla spice & black pepper, aged in oak (20% new), complex & elegant with fine soft tannins, long finish. Just getting good now, will age well.

Mar 7th, 2022I bought a bunch and tried these over several years. Pale lemon with aromas of stone and green fruits with a citrus notes. On the palate flavors of apple, peach and pear, crisp with good balance, fresh with lively acidity. Long finish, ending with nutty earthy tones. Distributor I met indicated wine can be put down for a few years, he was correct, outstanding wine, still tasting great.

Stewed fruit, tobacco, raspberry, dried herbs, menthol, cured meats, riverbed rocks and complimenting acid. May have lost a bit more fruit than it should have by now, but storage may have been an issue. Still amazing.
