The description: The plateau of Châteauneuf du Pape enjoys lots of the southern sun. La Nerthe benefits from the sunny east facing slopes, aiding the ripening, making for an aromatic and intense nose of ripe summer berries with sweet spices, star anise and a perfume of dried flowers. The palate is energetic and fleshy with a typical nose of garrigue, dried herbs with dense but sweet tannins.
The opinion: Exactly as it reads, a very fine wine. Need decanter to get most from it. I didn’t but as I said very fine wine!

The fruit opened, but as the evening wore on, I got more leather and spicy wood box. Nice long finish.
