Vintage 2015 | great effort: black fruit, cherries, vanilla, laurel and eucalyptus. Yes, indeed: classic. Good acidity, starts to come in its prime. Paired with ribeye from the grill.

Wine comes from a 17-acre portion of the Peyrabon estate in Pauillac. Contains a high proportion of Cab Sauv yet has an elegance to the wine. Dark Ruby with aromas of black fruit and spice. On the palate flavors of black fruits, oak and vanilla spice. Firm grippy tannins, ending with some oak and earthy notes on a medium finish ending somewhat tight, needs a few years in the bottle.

The classic tannic grip of Pauillac. Juicy and somewhat rustic - raspberry, petrichor and white pepper. Lovely #sommcon

From taste: classically styled, rock, bell pepper and lead in front, backed by tobacco and pine lumber. Fruit is way at the back of this bus, which is pleasing. Concentrated palate, full mouth, tobacco tinged cassis and mint in front with a long finish wracked with rocks, lead and assertive tannin. Shows typicity, power and polish well, well-priced at $64. Can be tucked up to 20 years for sure.

Drank 1/19/18. Walk around tasting. Tasting pour.

Nose of plum, black cherry, violets, and a touch of earth. Not nearly as tight as i would expect for a '15 with cassis, plum, earth, and cedar. Medium body. Long finish.

3/21/8/4/4 + 50 = 90 pts.

Very solid Pauillac. On the nose, leather, tobacco and green peppers. In the mouth, dark fruits, tobacco and fine tannins. Bright acidity, small presence of oak. Medium-long finish. Obviously a heavy Cab Sav blend. Likely a large upside for this wine in 10 years.
