One of the best second wines I’ve ever had. This is better than most chateaus grand vin

Apr 12th, 2023Pomegranate, cassis, bitter/unsweetened chocolate, forest floor, graphite, ash (but not smoke), dried strawberry, clay dust — there’s a little blueberry in there too. Elegant and subtle with many flavors I can’t pinpoint. Could age a long while. Wine with a capital “W.” 94…others with better palates would probably go higher.

Apr 22nd, 20242018 vintage. Last time tasted, it was corked. Not the case here. Waay more body than your average bear…er…Pessac-Léognan. Deep plum, rosemary and spearmint expressions on the flavor flav profile. Sweet concentration presence. Still drinks more like a second label Pauillac. Thinking this would be a fab cellar candidate to trot out in 15-20 years for giggles/wringer status.

Feb 22nd, 20222018 vintage. Corked. Body was good tho. Tasted fairly recently and bought three more bottles. This was the first of the three. Hoping for better luck with the remaining bottles.

Dec 3rd, 20212018 vintage. Bigger and drinking more like a Pauillac but 65% merlot/35% cabernet sauvignon. Herbs, molasses, mint, espresso crema and sweet dark plum in the nose. Medium body. Plenty of punch/grip on the finish tamped down slightly with a supple and syrupy anise and baking chocolate finish. Sounds odd but it works. Super youthful and has enough balance to age nicely. Lots of moving parts and will be interesting to see what settles in for the long haul. A little something for everyone currently.
