Dark, rich Cru Beaujolais. Forest floor note on the nose blew off with aeration. Brimming with black cherry and plum fruit. Notes of licorice, graphite and violets, with spice on the finish. Grippy tannins and nice balance.

The smell that is unbeknownst to me but good. Is fruity of some type with a hint of granite? Very earthy and slightly dry on the palate with a bite at the beginning smooth on the palate with a nice easy finish.

Wow. It really does have a strong aroma of peonies. An herbaceous palate, that lasts through the astoundingly long finish. Brilliant gamay wine.
