The 2016 Franc-Mayne has a detailed bouquet of blackberry, wild strawberry and floral (rose petal) aromas that gain intensity with just a few swirls of the glass. Very sensual! The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins and well-judged acidity, tightening up toward the finish but delivering plenty of substance and body. This seems to have gained the persistence that I was looking for 12 months ago. Great potential. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2020)

Tuesday evening and the wine I have chosen tonight is the 2015 Château Franc Mayne St. Emilion. I picked this wine up last week and wanted to try it last week but things came up that I had to attend to. This wine is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernat Franc, a very typical Right Bank Bordeaux.

On the nose there a notes of black cherry, blackberry, ripe plum, black currant charred oak and wet gravel.

On the palate are beautiful notes of, black cherry, blackberry, boysenberry, black currant, bell pepper and wet crushed rock.

This is a complex medium to full bodied wine with medium acidity and mesium+ fine mouth coating tannins that leads to a long fresh dark fruit finish. A beautiful week is ahead and we ha a lot of people that won't know what to do with themselves. Have a wonderful week ahead, just remember to keep yourselves safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

A delicious Merlot blend that I purchased today at Chateau Franc Maybe. The nose carries aromas of Chocolate, and earth. The mouthfeel is rich and luscious, tannins have subsided and a delicious pairing with Beef Wellington

If you'd a taste of true Saint Emilion style and class, this is your ticket to ride. From one of the more recent great #Bordeaux vintages, this bottle of Chateau Franc Mayne over delivers at the unassuming price of $45, you simply cannot get this quality from California in that same price range, a brilliant canvas of taunt tannins, painted w/ blackberries, dry earth, and ripe dark plums, and slightly dry taste of the skin. Decant an hour B4, it evolves w/ air. The finish is long and lasting. Purchased wine.
