A sweet wine with an acidic edge. Love.

This wine has a lovely, golden hue, like a room bathed in the glow from a fireplace. On the nose, candied apricots and a hint of lemon peel lead the way. Honey traces portend sweetness. The palate has a special delivery for a sweet tooth. Apples, peaches and pears mingle in a viscous, mouth coating orgy of fruit. There is a good level of acidity, too, in case you're not having it just for dessert. A Brie would go nicely, or a triple cream cheese.

A little sweet to finish dinner. Ch Filhot 2005 Sauternes. Honeyed apricot, a little "plastic" on the nose but expected. The finish is a bit short and the palate a bit light. A tiny bit of spice on the finish, coupled with some vanilla.

Wow! Wow! WOW!!! BEAUTIFUL golden yellow color, not yet too dark. Killer nose of pure and exotic perfection, with all the Philipines and Hawaiian fruits, richness of abundant tropical fruits, and with an exotic factor of sweaty feet aromas. I could drink this wine through my nose, yet wonderful bountiness and lushness of tropical fruit attacks the palate, and if it is not enough, explodes in the third quarter in a whole rainbow experience of flavors and sensations. The structure of this wine to contain all of this is fantastic and sensational, providing so valuable harmony and balance. Full body, with almost creamy texture and weight. This wine is still young. It finish is remarkably long and delicious. 96 pts today, but this wine will peak at 97 or 98 points.

Less Noble rot. But otherwise a balanced wine with perfume nose and round body. Good acidity to balance out the sweetness. Can be served not only as a desert wine

Mid Lemon in colour. Notes of Orange Marmalade and Orange Peel. Quite unctuous and sweet with M - Acid to finish off. Always a good match with Pate. Edit:- The most southerly Estate In Sauternes and also one of the largest. Established in the early 18th Century. The Filhots perished under the guillotine in 1794 but the property was returned to the family subsequently.

Nice. Not world class (I assume). Apricot, honey, coffee.

Very youthful since kept in a very cold cellar. Thinner than greater properties but nice and delicate
