Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux
Moulis en Médoc Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot
2018 vintage. Owned by the Cordonnier family (also Château Anthonic in the same appellation, with a higly recommended 2019 btw). 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and equal parts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Classic left bank Bordeaux with concentrated fruit, well-tamed tannin, balancing acidity and very good length. One wonders why they dump it in supermarkets, I paid less than 14 euros while I'd be happy at twice that price. Abv. 14,5%.

Apr 5th, 2022Had a 1996 vintage from my mum's cellar, after transporting it home and having it laid to rest for about 3 to 4 months I hardly daren't open it, freightened it might have turned.
Nothing was less true, after chambering it for about 2 hours I was astonished with the pleasant taste of red rubbies, some oak and a a vey mild touch of tobacco. For such and old wine I would have tought to have harder tannines, but here also, very mild tannines and a pleasant not overwhelming aftertaste
Great wine to have with a nice steak, grilled food and of course game, but also in accordance with a rich cheese platter, they make a great couple.
I wonder how much a bottle of tgis would cost nowadays?
There are stil' few bottles left, wonder how they'll taste over the following years
👌👍💕

Aug 22nd, 2015Birthday Bordeaux. I've sold enough of this to customers. It's nice to have it for myself.
