A historic chateau perched on top of a sloping limestone plateau and facing south over the river Dordogne. Dark red with jammy fruit aromas, slight smoky spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry & plum, big style, with cacao & licorice notes. Smooth tannins good balance, lingering finish ending with mineral and spice notes. Good value.

Oxblood in hue and with smoke and gamey earth aromas on the nose. Stewed fig and plum, chocolate and tobacco on the palette, and well integrated structure. On the hot/porty side. Sort of a slut, but she's natural and wears lacy boutique lingerie.

Scents of cocoa and figs transition to a sumptuous mouthfeel that exudes blackberry, anise, and hints of cedar. Medium body and tannin. A consummate example of a fine dining wine.

I normally am partial to left bank but was heavily discounted at TW, so I gave it whirl given the vintage. Smokey and earthy stewed red fruit on the nose. Nice palate with delicate fruit and chocolate flavors. Starts with chewy tannin in the mouth but that quickly fades into nice flavors with a shorter finish. On the whole, this is exciting in a way I cant exactly pinpoint, while being a well balanced and enjoyable wine. Nice #QPR.

2009 and I think it's very good. Strong nose but flavor is wonderful.
