Lots of violets, dried flower notes. Took a day to really open up but very pleasurable bottle once the austerity wears off.

This is what the French do so much better than the US: inexpensive but honest Cab/Merlot. Open nose has smoky gravel, plummy fruit, and the palate is seamless and totally in balance. Just enough ripeness. Only 13%. Nice acids. Perfect with Peruvian roast chicken take out.

Nose was very Carmenere- like. Green peppers dominated. Deep purple color, lightly tannic. Thought it was a little thin mid- palate, but I liked it better than similar Bordeaux reds.
