Deep yellow in colour, the 2014 Château Rochemorin from Pessac-Léognan sports a rich and honeyed nose with lime pickle, confit apple and the same aromas of French oak that you may find in the red wines of the region. 100% Sauvignon Blanc, on the palate, it’s lush, ripe and has a richness reminiscent of a white Rioja. Ultimately, it punches well above its weight - Rochemorin is an unclassified estate belonging to the André Lurton stable of La Louviere, and this bottle was around £15. At six years the wine is singing, but I’d actually love to try it after a few more years still of bottle age. I’m still a newbie to the whites of Bordeaux (much less so the reds...) so this is quite unlike any Sauv. B. I’ve tasted before.

Very elegant bouquet of passion fruit, lychee, mango, citrus, and smoke. Oak is very elegantly integrated. lots of tropical fruit on the palate with crisp acidity, depth, and a zesty and bitter finish. Very Nice! Very Classical!

Green-tinged straw color, nose of peaches and pears, body a little tart revealing the acidity of a good food wine but opens to lime and peach with some odd notes that round into a mouth-filling finish

Nice clean bouquet on the nose; light start with a sharp, distinguished finish. Light green apple notes with an toasty/liquorish finish

Very smooth and easy to drink. Great finish. 2000 was a good vintage.
