#AgedWineTuesday.

Dark ruby in color with a reddish/ brick rim.

Pretty nose of red and black fruits with cedar, licorice and chocolate notes.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with sweet raspberries, cherries, plums, light cedar, earth, herbs, chocolates, black pepper and tobacco leaf.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious 14 year old GSM blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Rich, but not extracted. Elegant with lots of chocolate notes. Well balanced with nice complexity.

Impressively fresh and youthful for its age, with good structure and balance. The high alcohol is well integrated by now.

I've had a few vintages of this wine and it is very consistent.

Drinking at its peak, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.

A gorgeous wine to drink by itself or with food.

A blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 20% Mourvedre. Grapes from very old vines are aged in new French oak barrels for 14 months.

15% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

$100.

Extremely nice but needs some time in the cellar. Super complex with deep fruit, earth, and plenty of acid.

Didn’t decant this time, unlike last time, and that was the right call! This bottle is singing - so nice and deep black and red fruit. All coming together.

It was ready. Went great with braised lamb. It has peaked. Not going to get much better than this!

Not sure if btl is showing correctly. A bit dull in the nose and on the palate

Didn’t hold up especially well. Decanted for an hour and got rid of the sediment. Lacking in acid and depth, and the fruit is somewhat receded but without much to take its place. Still a fine wine but didn’t live up to expectations.

A legacy CdP from the collection. Haven’t had in many years - with the age it’s certainly nice. Though, quite full bodied and somehow still somewhat austere, and with not enough acid to really keep it all refined. Nice enough with skirt steak on the grill.

Excellent paired with French cheeses ( Fourme d’Ambert, pavé de brebis, fromages de chèvre de Normandie et d’Anjou). Had the 2017 vintage in July 2023.
