Nice property from the gravelly terroir SE of Martillac. Expresses its location nicely with floral and meaty notes on the nose, with dark plum, berry and graphite on the palate, and chalky tannins on the finish. Mid-weight and easy-drinking, although this will hold for 5-10 years. Much cleaner than the last bottle I had ('15). All in all a very fairly priced, accessible, expressive glass.

If you didn't make good wine in 2016 in Bordeaux, you better find another profession. This is not particularly complex, but great value at 12 euro. Balance, enough power, charm and good length. Can't ask for more at this price point.

Opens with hi sheen oak, severe vegetal notes and astringent tannins. After hours open, it does manage to stitch together, showing black fruit, and spicy oak, sort of imitating a mountain grown Napa Cabernet.

I bought this at Total Wine and More. I wanted a Bordeaux in the 2009 vintage and this was a staff pick. It's delivery is subtle at first. The fruit lingers long after the liquid is gone. Slightly astringent at the first opening. An hour later it had smoothed nicely.

Situated between Martillac and St Médard d'Eyrans, in the south of the Pessac-Léognan appellation in the Graves region, an ancient estate whose origins are lost in the mists of time. It appears on the map drawn up by Belleyme in 1760. Nice fruit nose with ripe plum and berry flavors with cinnamon spice. Fine tannins on lingering mineral finish.

Needed decanting. Still big. Lot of oak notes at first then opening up to nice fruit. Age a few more years

Fruit driven! Black currant and lots of spice. M+ acid, body and alcohol. M round tannin. Clove and red fruit on the palate.

30th birthday wine for Holly. Opened up quite well after an hour, with a beautiful nose of red berries and florals. There's definitely oak on the nose as well, and the palate shows it too, but it's very well integrated into the medium body. A beautiful wine that can keep for a few more years I imagine without starting to fall.
