Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend

I have very little experience with Pomerol let alone aged Pomerol. That is a mistake on my part. Beautiful aromatics of mushroom ,soil and cedar with just a hint of funk that disappeared quickly. In the mouth red fruits and plums are accompanied by tobacco. Balanced with soft but lingering tannins.

I will drink another Merlot.

Great nose of saddle leather, tobacco leaf and cedar box. Silky and seductive in the mouth. Palate staining finish.

Excellent wine with a lot going on. Opened this as its my youngest son’s birth year and had forgotten we had another bottle just a year ago and I said this could go for a lot more years (got to keep better records). In any case why wait. Big wine full of plums, black fruits, licorice and tobacco/earthliness throughout and nice long finish.

Berries, tar and flowers on nose and taste. Still has some tannins but nice somewhat long finish. Not sure when to open my other bottle but thinking next year.

Enjoying a wine older than ME! Celebrating a successful day in LA (after going to the wrong agency for a meeting and hitch hiking to the right place...)
