Can't pass up a glass of this when at a French Restaurant. This is an excellent reflection of the velvet hammer Margaux style, and idea of what the top estate wines could offer you from Chateau Brane Cantenac. Black plum skins, dates, blackberry liqueur, pencil box, allspice, medium bodied, focused tannin, perfect for duck l'orange.

Already drinking well after some decanting, but has the bones to go quite a while. A lot of fruit, but well contained by the structure. Will age well and great value.

This is the second wine from Brane-Cantenac, which was a massive success for the vintage in 2013, a tough year in Bordeaux. Dark fruit, leather, tar. Doesn't sustain long but quite tasty all considered.

Great, starting to tip toe into maturity with earthy forest floor and mushroom at first that gives way to harmonious currants and cassis, mocha, toast and a long, silky Margaux finish.

Deep purple, slight haze, unfiltered. Violets, sweet flowers. Black plums, blackberry. Med acid & tannins. Full body, long finish.

Second from Brane-Cantenac. The aromatics are there but in the mouth it's texturally lacking with faded fruit, low acidity, almost creamy mouthfeel. Meh.

Nice. A touch of barnyard funk or stinky cheese. But I liked it.

From 375 mL, this is aromatically open and developing nicely, high complexity.
