Aug 11th, 2015Continuing on my holiday Bordeaux adventure, this is very acidic and closed, even after 3 hours open. Too young I suppose. The fruit is bright and fresh, but with little complexity. I’m going to keep letting it air out, and let’s see.
After 7 hours, definitely better, but not great. I’m not sure about Bordeaux, or Pomerol specifically. For the price, this is an overly fussy, boring place in today’s world. Why should I wait for hours to have a mediocre sip of wine, when I can have something more exciting, interesting and less expensive immediately? I wonder how this famous region will end up in a climate changing future as wine making adapts in other places.

Great to be able to buy an inexpensive Bordeaux with this kind of age on it.

Dec 7th, 2021This was definitely the most expensive bottle I’ve bought at least in a while, and certainly for myself. Someone had bought most of the available stock, and I can see why. While unprepossessing flavorwise for the most part, it is noteworthy for being dark and strong without being too bright or heavy. It’s very nicely balanced, its fruit note an almost apple-like aged cherry that might come from the Old Fashioneds of any bartender in any hipster neighborhood.l worth its salt.
