Star bright straw gold in the glass. Nose of yellow Apple and cement block. Medium body palate, medium acidity. Yellow apple, flint, quince on the palate. Good balance between "food wine" and "sipping wine," though there are certainly better examples of the grape from the region. Solid QPR.

Peach/nectarine fruit with vivid acidity, vaguely floral on the nose and finishes with decent minerality. Excellent balance.

The light yellow '12 Charles Smith Riesling 'Kung Fu Girl' blows away the competition for this entry-level price point. Crisp aromatics, with a corresponding flavor profile, of white peach, lemony citrus, lychee and wet stone. Slightly sweet, but with a zippy acidity that keeps it clean and focused. Immensely drinkable!

Nice easy Riesling. Good for not wine drinkers and the wine drinkers can still manage.

I know this is a rerun (in pilot season, no less), but it's the best $10 wine I know. And a great pairing with chicken and noodles in peanut sauce.

This wonderful example of Washington Reisling begins with light citrus and honeysuckle notes on the nose. Lively acidty that's perfectly balanced with off-dry sweetness and allows flavors of pear and green apple to shine. Finishes with tinge of slate and minerality. The great bottle art is just a bonus! ($9) [7/18/16]

100 % Riesling. All Evergreen Vineyard fruit. Expressive fruity and floral nose. Semi-dry palate filled with fruit and mineral favors. Probably the best value Riesling produced in the U.S.

A very good Riesling for the price ($13). Lots of lemony fruit aromas, accented by floral and mineral notes. Off dry, with med+ acidity, good balance. Generous fruit, leading with citrus, but also green apple, asian pear. A touch of green herb (lemon thyme?) and wet slate carry through on a very long finish. A hell of a value.
