My 2nd time having this Washington, Columbia Valley Syrah, and it continues to impress, especially once left to decant for an hour or two. Medium bodied with flavors of blackberry bramble with an earthy vein of leather and sage with a touch of allspice. Paired great with some charcuterie, on this Monday night! [6/11/18] ($13)

Fruit forward at first with black & boysenberry flavors but hints of sage, cured meats and tobacco leaf appeared as the wine decanted. Well balanced, medium bodied, and mild approachable tannins make this an easy drinker. However, it also paired well with strip steaks and mushroom/asparagus risotto topped with sage brown butter. Cherry, raspberry, licorice, wood, vanilla, leather. Round, bold. Minimal tannins but full flavor. Not much complexity, but who cares with a wine like this?
