Cellers Baronia del Montsant (Clos d'Englora)
Cims del Montsant Garnatxa Carinyena Blend
The wine needs decanting to be enjoyed at its full potential. Bold, somewhat astringent on first taste. Mellows out a little after decanting with black fruit on the nose and a dry, tannic palate of black cherries and forrest floor. Medium bodied and medium acidity. I can't imagine bottle aging benefits much past the next year or two.

Cool label. It’s terroir art apparently. Smells complex and strange. Blood orange peel? Sawdust from pine or fir? Flavors are strange. Pine needles and red/purple fruits. Complex and fresh even 10 years later. Licorice and fruit skins. It’s tart, chewy, woody, and inky. Deep and dense. Last long. It’s muy delicioso.

Mar 6th, 2020Color of dark purple, a bit gray. Nose of dried sweet strawberries, sweet oak, plums, spicy alcohol, and some paint or crayon. Taste follows similar notes with some more salty bacon type of feeling, round and low tannins, peppery, a bit bittersweet, dried strawberries, matured acidity, and indeed some raisins. Aftertaste is right, medium long and resonates with overall tasting experience. Good.
