I was really impressed with this for such a young En Chamberlin vineyard. Fox fur and raw hot dog aromas rise from the decanter, dark herbaceous flavor profile—black olive, licorice, bay leaf. Thank you for hosting in your gorgeous cellar @Mike R you provided ear to ear smiles in your cellar

#wine has the most amazing nose and a bit more going on than the 10 or 11. Palate is milky, funky, floral and bright, more acid driven than most vintages.

It happens, unfortunately the wine was flawed and it was the last bottle. Oh well, went with the wine pairing. Will have to try this bottle another time! 👊🏻

That great Cayuse funk. A little bitter, but low tannin. Tasty!

Funky and terrific with a smoky meal of roasted chicken thighs and sweet potatoes with lots of sage, coriander and paprika.

"The Stones hold the secret" Just sorta felt like a Cayuse kinda Friday. A 2012 En Cerise Vineyard—Literally translated, it means “cherry”—which is appropriate since the 10-acre vineyard planted in 1998 was a cherry orchard in its former life. A 4-hour decant, it exhibited none of the trademark Cayuse funk on the nose. I'm sure it blew off as a result of the lengthy decant, but I kinda missed it if I'm being honest. Cherry compote with some road tar on the finish. Velvety texture. Plush, layered with a good backbone. Nice finish. I'd say 9.4/10. I'm a fan of Christophe. This is Clos St Jean at a fraction of the price. Can't wait for "Hors Catagorie." Christophe, if you're listening, put me down for a case!

Bring on the funk! If you enjoy blueberry syrup with your smoked bacon, have I got a wine for you! Plush, layered, textured and super rich. Throw in a touch of road tar too. Lingering finish. A few more years in the cellar will just improve this beast. Approachable now with a several hour decant.
