Dark bright deep purple. Cassis, saddle leather, touch of olive, dark ripe black fruit (plum, cherry, berry). Nice balance with noticeable acidity and just a touch of soft round tannin. I like the cab.franc/Merlot weight much better than Cabernet Sauvignon, Very good companion for frigid Chicsgo night with filets, double stuffed bakers, and balsamic sautéed zucchini.

Pale lemon-gold with green highlights. Aromas of lemon juice, lemon rind, with hints of rosemary and crushed clam shell. Unlike any Albariño from Spain that I've had in that the typical floral/honeysuckle/jasmine note is not there. Bone dry with lots of acid, lemon/lime flavors dominate. This reminds me more of a good Muscadet than Albariño, which is not a bad thing! Long, minerally finish. Needs raw oysters.

One of the better Reds we have drank in quite a while. It was great with our hanger steak but it would have been good sitting on the deck sipping it. Glad I listened to MTP.
