A little woody out of the gate but then other good stuff muscled its way into view. Nose has deep, ripe cherry fruit—almost plummy—a bit of pure vanilla, warm crushed gravel. Palate has dark cherry, iodine and other minerally/savory notes. Good flavor concentration. Substantial tannin in the back half of the palate. Decent acids. Lengthy finish. Very good now, but certainly will last and probably improve over the next 1-3 years.

Terrific Chianti. Nose features loads of gravel, balsamic notes, intense macerated chokecherry, spice. So soft, perfectly mature, great flavor concentration, tannins mostly resolved. Fruit in the initial palate, but transforming into leather and autumn leaves by the end.

Nose:Decaying rose petal, tar, earth. In the glass, the entry is round, with a spicy bite on the finish. The fruit is subsided to the body on this one, with the wine’s structure needing a few more years to calm down to match the remaining fruit.

I wish I didn't try this one blind... I felt betrayed when I discovered that what I thought was a Spanish wine was actually a top end Chianti. A little disappointed, despite the fact that the wine is still great.

Interesting early onset brick color aging. Heavy oak and underwhelming dried red fruits and herbs, menthol and vanilla.

Nice but a bit too much oak coming through to merit a higher score

Needs more time. Still very primary and more fruit forward than a gran selezione should be.
Still enjoyable with some air. I grabbed this at $19. It's a 90 now with room to improve 1 to 3 pts with aging.

Medium bodied and good balance of plum, cherry, tartness and soft tannins. Hint of vanilla on the nose too which was nice. Good show!

Much improved from 8 months ago but ideally needs more time to integrate further.
Traditional style. Cherry, leather, a bit of earth, and subtle floral flavors.
Drank with pork milanese and risotto. Very good!
